Live Mesh

Live Mesh

Microsoft has announced plans to offer a sophisticated "cloud" operating
system, currently code named Azure, in 2009. But you don't have to wait that
long to experience the cloud in limited form. Windows Live Mesh is a device
synchronization and cloud storage platform that's already available in public
beta, and you can sign up HERE

Live Mesh is based on the Mesh Operating Environment (MOE) and you can run it
on Vista, XP, Windows Mobile or Mac OS X. Rather than providing server-based
productivity applications (at this time, at least), it allows you to connect
via Remote Desktop to any of your systems from anywhere and run the apps that
are installed there. It does include cloud-based data storage on the Live
Desktop, where you can place data in folders that you access through a Web
browser.
