Explore the Amazon with Google Street View
Nature lovers can now tour the world’s largest rainforests from the comfort of their own homes. To celebrate World Forest Day on Wednesday, Google released ground-level images of the Amazon’s Rio Negro Reserve as part of its Street View service.
Those interested in seeing the sights can take a virtual boat ride down the Rio Negro or along some of the Amazon River’s smaller tributaries. Google’s cameras also explored forest trails and the community of Tumbira, a remote village in the heart of the Amazon.
