Google Earth

the incredible detail now available in satellite photos. If you'd like to see most places from the sky, you can download Google's free software, Google Earth, to get a better look. This is a very cool program, based on the old Keyhole technology. You can type in a street address or a city name and zoom in on wonderfully detailed views. And even better, you can select "layers" to overlay on the maps, showing where various types of places are located (such as schools, banks, postal code boundaries, airports, cemeteries, restaurants, gas stations, golf courses, hospitals and many more. Our only caveat is that you need a good 3D video card and a broadband Internet connection to take advantage of it.
