This is annoying for two reasons: it feels like a breach of your privacy - especially those sites that make dozens of fields mandatory - and it takes extra time.
Well, now there's a way around these compulsive information-gatherers. Just copy and paste the offending site into this application and it will give you a password.
NOTE Have been using this now for 6 months and it works well.

Pick the right encoder, format, and bit rate.
Ripping a CD is easy; finding a setup that sounds great can take some tweaking. With the right tools and a little forethought, you'll be ripping like a pro.
Real Easy Ripping
Forget basic ripping software like Windows Media Player and the free version of RealPlayer--they're too restrictive. Windows Media Player 9 can rip music to WMA files, but you'll still need to buy extra software to rip to MP3. And RealPlayer can encode to Real Media format or AAC at high bit rates, but it encodes MP3s at only low bit rates. For good quality MP3s, you'll want to encode your music at higher bit rates than those offered by RealPlayer.
Several free Windows programs, like CDex and EAC, can rip to a variety of formats without such problems. I use CDex: It's simple and can rip music to any MP3 bit rate using LAME, an encoder consistently rated best in MP3 encoder listening tests. CDex can also rip from roughed-up CDs: Its Paranoia mode adds an extra level of error checking that compensates for scratches on the CD.
Choosing the Right Format
Before you rip away, think about what format you want to use for encoding your CD: Should it be the ubiquitous MP3 format, the open-source Ogg Vorbis, or a proprietary one like Microsoft Windows Media Audio?
Generally, you should use the format you can do the most with. While many devices support a proprietary format or two, pretty much everything reads MP3 files.
Normalize the Volume
Music is recorded at different volume levels. If you're listening to an entire CD, you just knock the volume up or down a notch--not a problem. Firewalls keep hackers and bandits out while your computer is connected to the Internet. They hide your computer from would-be intruders and stop anyone from trying to get in. They also prevent spyware and adware from contacting the mother ship with your personal information.
Now that you have spyware detectors up and running,( You DO have don't you) check out one of these three firewall programs to beef up your security even further.
ZoneAlarm is one of the more well-known firewall programs, and it's the one I run at home. It installs easily and alerts you via a pop-up window the second anyone tries to access your connection--coming in or going out. A paid version of ZoneAlarm offers more options, but the free version is enough for basic security, which is why I'm listing this one as free. (Free/Windows)
Kerio Personal Firewall is another solid firewall program that provides protection similar to ZoneAlarm's. I like how this program essentially fingerprints trusted programs so that Trojan horses, which impersonate other programs, have no chance of squirming in. Kerio Personal Firewall has both paid and free versions, like ZoneAlarm, and the free version works great.(Free/Windows)
Intego NetBarrier X Personal Firewall for Mac OS X offers a four-level line of defense against hackers and vandals and prevents exporting of personal information. Every where from outer space to the bottom of the ocean, there is no limit to where they have been. This site is about the whole MSB experience, from the television shows to the books to the games (computer based, of course), as well as the Traveling Bus (over 17 states and thousands of students visited), and the live stage show. This is education at it's very best as it is humorous, fun and exciting, all while getting a lesson across.
So bookmark this site for your little ones, and let them spend some time in the activity lab here. It will be time well spent.

There are just too many choices when it comes to software that deals with photo viewing, editing, and organizing. I'm going to make things even more complicated by throwing another option into the ring. It's a free piece of software called Futuris Imager. This software has the normal set of features that you have come to expect in an image viewer - support for multiple formats, scanner and camera integration, and printing capabilities. Along with this, it also permits you to mess with your photos in a number of ways, thanks to the included filters. Screen capture is also built in, allowing you to capture content in a variety of different ways. Those of you who enjoy viewing your photos automatically will appreciate the slideshow functionality. Once you're done editing your image, you can then use Futuris Imager to send it by e-mail, or even create HTML for the image. Most of the features of this software will look familiar to you, but there's also some new stuff here that keeps things interesting.

Probably the most useful tool that I have on my computer.
It is an unfortunate reality that people will usually judge you as uneducated when they often see spelling mistakes in your compositions. Spelling checkers are now a must for people who write using computers.
Spelling checkers are usually included with top word processors like Microsoft Word, but the thing is, you don’t want to open Word just to type a small memo or simple notes. Sometimes Notepad is enough for simple tasks.
For a simple work around with these limitations you can simply just fire up Notepad and download a small utility called tinySpell v1.3. This utility is compatible with all Windows versions, is freeware, and eats almost no system resources at all.
All you need to do is start the application and type your notes or memos from any word processor. If you make a spelling error, the program will beep to alert you of the mistake. Just click on the application on the system tray and it will give you word recommendations for automatic spell change.
This app works not only on Notepad or Wordpad but on every word processor in the Windows environment; it even works when typing from Internet Explorer, Opera, or Firefox.

The accuracy of the S.O.S. test depends on correctly retrieving your computer’s IP address. If S.O.S. does not correctly retrieve your IP address the scan results will not be correct. This is because your IP address can be masked or hidden if you are connecting through a firewall or a proxy server.
Also, if you are running any type of security program, which logs any form of attack, you may see log entries from IP address’s 207.33.111.35, 207.33.111.36 or 207.33.111.37. This is not an attack on your computer or network. Please do not be alarmed by these logs.
The information collected from any scan on this site is not used, stored or viewed by Sygate in any way for any reason whatsoever.

Most everyone I know - including myself - is switching from IE to Firefox. It took me the longest time to make the switch because I could not find a spell checker for Firefox (like ieSpell for IE). Plus there was no Google bar available except the one that comes with it which is OK for searching but I missed the IE version because of the features it had.
But now that's all changed!
SpellBound is an extension for Firefox 0.9+. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. a comment on a message board, etc.) before submitting them when using Firefox. There are no special system requirements beyond those to run Firefox 0.9 or above and it has been verified to work with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
Googlebar was created to address the widespread desire for the Google toolbar to support Mozilla, since many users of Mozilla enjoy having all of Google's specialty searches in one convenient location.
After surfing Firefox's extension page, I have found many extensions that will definitely help me out when just using the browser for personal or business use.

I'm a huge fan of the Chronicles of Riddick concept emerging out of the universe created when Pitch Black came out several years ago. I haven't played the Xbox game, so I can't pass judgment on game play, graphics, or story, to offer advice on buying it or not, but I can offer you a pointer to get the entire game soundtrack free from Vivendi Universal's gaming division. The soundtrack offers 17 different compositions, which range from slightly macabre to frantic percussive beats pulsing under orchestral moods. All compositions are original works by Gustaf Grefberg, who also composed the music for the Xbox game Enclave. VU Games wrapped the whole thing in one monstrous 43MB zip file, and they make you enter a date of birth (no other personal info required), which I'm sure is an attempt to prevent direct linking, but those minor hurdles are well worth the collection of original compositions included in the 46 minutes of music.

WMP10's feature set, reliability and appearance all make Player 9 seem like a dinosaur. Even if you are holding off on downloading XP SP2 (which automatically upgrades you to WMP9), get Windows Media Player 10; it's more stable than any previous version and it doesn't offer the frustrating error messages running rampant in Player 9 (which are usually the result of a bad codec, not the player itself). Navigation is dramatically improved, with consistent access features via a unified top navigational layout.

Even if you are holding off on downloading XP SP2 (which automatically upgrades you to WMP9), get Windows Media Player 10; it's more stable than any previous version and it doesn't offer the frustrating error messages running rampant in Player 9 (which are usually the result of a bad codec, not the player itself). Navigation is dramatically improved, with consistent access features via a unified top navigational layout.
