Finally! A complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver.Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") makes managing a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML.
vu is a new WYSIWYG HTML editor from the Linspire company, based on the old Mozilla Composer. It was developed primarily for Linux but is also available for Windows and Mac.
It looks very similar to Macromedia Homesite but adds features from the likes of Dreamweaver, such as the ability to drag and drop images onto the page and the visual creation of tables.
Although best suited to individuals with little or no HTML skills, it is equally useful for more experienced coders as it allows full manipulation of the generated HTML code.
Some of its more interesting features include a 'tag preview' view, which provides a visual representation of all the table tags on a page, and auto-form creation.
