GoldMail

GoldMail
Talking slide show messages
in 3 easy steps...

1. Create your slides using photos, images and documents

2. Record your voice or use a soundtrack

3. Use your own e-mail to send your message or post it to any
web site or blog

“What will you talk about?”
Using your images, documents, and even straight text, you’ll create slides that will be used when you record your voice-over. While recording your voice, you control when GoldMail switches between the slides. If you like what you see in the preview, then you’re good to go, but of course, you can go back and tweak your presentation to perfection if you see the need to do so.

Forget the 18Yr. old blonde. I WANT one of THESE for Christmas

The world's first thrust vectored radio-controlled jet airplane. Pilot: Sebastiano Silvestri

Thrust vectoring is the ability of an aircraft to direct the thrust from its main engines in a direction other than parallel to the vehicle's longitudinal axis. The technique was originally envisaged to provide upward vertical thrust as a means to give aircraft vertical (VTOL) or short (STOL) takeoff and landing ability. Subsequently, it was realized that using vectored thrust enabled aircraft to perform various maneuvers not available to conventional-engined planes. To perform turns, aircraft that use no thrust vectoring must rely on only ailerons or flaps; craft with vectoring still must use ailerons, but to a lesser extent.

GenerationXperience

A new social networking website has been set up to allow the over-50s to talk directly to the government about issues that concern them.

Each week a new topic is started on GenerationXperience and you can add your views as well as suggest other areas you'd like covered.

The
site also contains links to other organisations – such as Age Concern
and Help the Aged – as well as information about events in your area.

Online debates

There
are also plans to link GenerationXperience to other social networking
sites, including Myspace, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.

The website underlines the growing importance of ‘silver surfers’.

The
government says that a quarter of all internet users are now over the
age of 50, with people over 65 spending more hours online, on average,
than any other age group.

TED.com (Technology, Entertainment, Design).

If you're tired of videos with dopey guys crashing their skateboards into
walls while demonstrating their flatulence skills, you'll like TEDBlog. It's an
intellectually stimulating blog that's part of TED.com (Technology,
Entertainment, Design). That means they talk not only about technology, but
about culture, science, and life.

Here are some examples of their "talks" (actually, videos of presentations by
bright people):

If that's not enough, look at some of the tech
talks
, and then browse the rest. There must be hundreds of videos, including
some amazing stuff.

If you're interested enough, I encourage you to join (it's
free) so you'll get e-mail updates.

You'll have to sit through a short, loud ad at the start of each video, so
make sure to turn down the volume before you start watching.
